- Replace your worktop for a new metallic design in high gloss texture for some instant luxury. The matching worktop and upstand look just like polished granite but are far more purse-friendly at around £190-210 per 4m worktop or around £16 - £18 per linear metre for an upstand - and they are easier to maintain on a day to day basis.
- Taking out your worktop can create a raggy edge – so fit a matching laminate upstand to your replacement worktop. It’s easy to install and provides a neat finishing detail. Around £16 - 18 per linear metre.
- Bored of your tiles? Go straight over them with a laminate splashback and give your kitchen some instant glamour with a patterned design such as the new Rococo designs from Bushboard. Around £45-50 per linear metre.
- If you’re feeling a little more flush, look at ready-made solid surfacing. It retails at around £45 - £55 per linear metre for a splashback or upstand which is around a third of the price compared to bespoke solid surfacing such as Corian. Bushboard’s Encore range comes in a range of ready-made components including worktops, upstands and splashbacks. They do need to be professionally fitted by a tradesmen but still offer substantial savings.
