Nuance range suitable for wet rooms
Demonstrating its versatility for the bathroom, Bushboard’s Nuance range has been used to convert a conventional bath-over-shower style bathroom into a stylish walk- in wetroom for Mrs Reid, who lives in a McCarthy & Stone apartment in Inverness.
The brief was to create a luxurious, safe and easy maintenance shower-room. The Marble Tabac design in laminate was chosen for its rich stone coloration in the large format laminate wall panels in 2420 x 1200 x 11mm. Featuring a long postformed edge, unique to the Nuance range, the panels can oversail the shower enclosure providing a more aesthetically pleasing finishing detail and eliminating the need for unsightly extrusions. The panels were also seamlessly jointed providing an expansive decorative surface that is hygienic, easy to clean and 100% waterproof.
The large format Nuance laminate panels were used in the creation of a level access wetroom, underlining the product’s unique advantage of being the only laminate product on the market able to do so and guarantee to be 100% waterproof without unsightly extrusions. The project was done in September 2010 and took eight working days from gutting it to final completion.
The scheme was designed by Lisa McMyn, managing director of Ruby Slippers, www.rubyss.co.uk. The company focuses on home enhancements for independent living and specialises in helping the ageing population enjoy living at home for as long as possible, providing a one-stop-service from initial planning and design through to the installation of bathrooms, kitchens, stairlifts and through-floor lifts.
The Nuance bathroom surfacing range offers an extensive choice of panels, worksurfaces and upstands in a choice of sizes in 31 laminates and five solid surfaces. The range offers a complete decorative solution for the whole bathroom combining installation flexibility and design panache. Expect to pay from £60 per sq m.
